The Soldier They Sent to Fail
"They sent him in because they thought he couldn't finish."
Marcus Vale steps off a military transport into a frozen war-zone training city. Snow falls heavily over destroyed buildings and abandoned streets.
Other elite soldiers arrive with advanced gear, drones, and thermal scopes. They immediately mock Marcus when they see his damaged eye and old equipment.
A commander assigns him the worst squad and gives a near-impossible hostage rescue simulation deep inside the ruined city.
Marcus says nothing.
As the mission begins, elite teams rush in aggressively... but quickly lose coordination inside the collapsing urban maze.
Marcus moves differently. Slow. Calm. Listening more than looking.
Final moment: his squad enters the dark ruins... and Marcus suddenly stops.
He whispers:
"Don't move. They're already here."
